Associated Press
PALM SPRINGS —
A mild earthquake shook the Southern Californian desert Sunday, but no damage or injuries were reported.
The quake, measuring magnitude 3.4, was centered 23 miles south of this desert resort city, said Robert Finn, a spokesman for Caltech in Pasadena.
Palm Springs Police Department service assistant Valerie Drake said the department received one phone call. “Usually we get a flood of calls” from citizens wondering what happened, she said.
Drake said she felt only a brief jolt when the quake hit.
