Velasquez Guides Moon Drone to Win in Feature at Aqueduct
Moon Drone, the odds-on favorite, led all the way and won the $32,000 Obeah purse by two lengths Monday at Aqueduct.
Moon Drone was ridden by Jorge Velasquez and carried 116 pounds in the 1 1/8-race for 3-year-old fillies.
Briana B. was second in the seven-horse field, half a length ahead of Palate Pleaser.
Claimed for $50,000 out of her previous start, Moon Drone earned $19,200 for her new owners, Gianca Stables.
The victory was the second in three starts this year for Moon Drone, who returned $3.80, $2.60 and $2.20. Briana B. paid $5.40 and $3.20 and Palate Pleaser returned $2.80.
