Andersen to Interview for Freedom Bowl Job

Share

Don Andersen, an associate athletic director at Chapman College, is one of six candidates who will be interviewed today for the Freedom Bowl executive director position.

Jim Murray, former Freedom Bowl president and one of two people who will be conducting the interviews, said Andersen was one of the six candidates with “local market presence” who will be interviewed today. Murray would not identify the other candidates.

Andersen, who came to Chapman when Bob Boyd was hired as basketball coach and athletic director last spring, was sports information director at USC from 1967 to 1974. After a year as an administrator for the now-defunct World Football League and then the Southern California Sun, Andersen worked seven years for the Seattle Seahawks.
