Four teen-aged gang members were arrested on suspicion of killing a rival gang member and wounding his brother during a drive-by shooting that occurred earlier this week, police said Friday.

The suspects, all between 15 and 17 years old, allegedly drove up to Aurelio Navarette, 20, and his brother Otoniel, 18, as they walked along Artesia Boulevard near Fullerton Avenue early Monday, asked where they were from and then opened fire, Buena Park Police Officer Rich McMillen said.

Aurelio Navarette died from the attack and Otoniel was injured in the arm. Both brothers had known gang affiliations in Buena Park, McMillen said.

The suspects, whose names have not been released because of their age, are believed to be from a rival gang in Norwalk in Los Angeles County, McMillen said.

The first arrest was made shortly after the shooting and the others were made through Wednesday, McMillen said. Police said they are still investigating the incident and said that more arrests might be made. All the youths are from Norwalk except one who lives in Downey, McMillen said.

During one of the arrests police confiscated a .22 semi-automatic rifle believed to have been used in shooting, he said.
