Sold, American!

I am dismayed to hear that the British television industry may soon be sold to the highest bidder (“The Waterloo of Quality TV,” Feb. 4).

If the British need any proof that corporate-controlled television doesn’t work, they can just look to America. Since the networks became the property of large corporations, we have seen programs that don’t take any chances, have any new ideas or any real intelligence.

I’m beginning to think that Margaret Thatcher is Ronald Reagan’s evil twin!
