Teacher Nominated for Award

Damien High School teacher Michael Knish has been nominated for the University of Chicago Outstanding Teacher Award, Damien Principal Father Patrick Travers announced.
The award recognizes outstanding high school teachers by allowing University of Chicago students to nominate teachers who played an important role in motivating them to excellence during high school. It honors teachers who opened new vistas, challenged students intellectually and channeled private interests into productive paths.
Knish has been a faculty member at Damien since 1985. He teaches economics, English, speech and debate and U.S. history at the La Verne high school.
