Business Council Sponsors Awards

The Los Angeles Business Council is seeking entries for its 20th annual Urban Beautification Awards program. Deadline for entries is Feb. 26.
Eligible projects must be within Los Angeles County and have been completed within calendar year 1989. Landscaping entries must have been completed within the past two years.
Categories are new and remodeled/restored buildings, including low-, mid- and high-rise structures; single- and multifamily residential projects, and commercial and residential landscaping projects.
New this year are two awards: One, sponsored by Kaufman & Broad, will honor overall architectural excellence in public buildings. The winner will be chosen by the deans of the schools of architecture at UCLA, USC and the Southern California Institute of Architecture. The second award will recognize a distinctive public interior space and will be chosen by the Urban Beautification Committee.
