THE SIDELINES : Vanderbilt Coach Reprimanded
Vanderbilt Coach Eddie Fogler was reprimanded by the Southeastern Conference for his criticism of the referees after a weekend loss to Mississippi.
SEC Commissioner-elect Roy Kramer, who is still Vandy’s athletic director, issued the public reprimand on Monday, saying Fogler had “clearly violated” the league’s code of ethics and the commissioner’s regulations on officiating, both of which prohibit public criticism of officials.
Kramer cited Fogler for his comments to the media after a 68-67 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday in which the Vandy coach said SEC officiating “is a joke.”
