SHORT TAKES : Midler, Wonder on Grammy Show

Producers of the Grammy Awards telecast said today that Bette Midler and Stevie Wonder have been added as performers on Wednesday night’s awards show that will be broadcast live on CBS from the Shrine Auditorium.
Midler, a nominee for record of the year and best female pop vocal performance, will perform her hit ballad “Wind Beneath My Wings,” while 17-time Grammy winner Wonder will perform “We Can Work It Out,” part of a special tribute to lifetime achievement honoree Paul McCartney.
Midler and Wonder are joining an impressive line-up of performers which includes Harolyn Blackwell, Ray Charles, Rodney Crowell, Miles Davis, D. J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, Fine Young Cannibals, Don Henley, Billy Joel, k.d. lang, Branford Marsalis, Mike and the Mechanics, Milli Vanilli, Aaron Neville, Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt.
