NEWPORT BEACH : School Reopening Is Meeting Topic
The Newport Mesa Unified School District is inviting parents to a meeting tonight to discuss the reopening of Lincoln Elementary School in Corona del Mar.
Because of current overcrowding and anticipated growth among elementary school-age children in Corona del Mar, the district plans to reopen Lincoln School in September, 1991. Lincoln will remain an elementary school, but district officials have not yet decided what grade levels to be included in the school.
“We want to make sure that all parents have a starting point and know what the situation is,” said Sherry Loofbourrow, the school board’s vice president.
Tonight’s meeting will be the first in a series of community forums about the reopening of Lincoln. The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln School, 3501 Pacific View Drive.
