Moore Leads Long Beach Women Over San Jose
Forward Penny Moore scored 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, both career highs, to lead the Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team to a 93-71 Big West Conference victory over San Jose State Saturday at San Jose.
The 12th-ranked 49ers (22-5, 14-2 in conference play) shot 54% from the field with Moore connecting on 18 of 25 shots. Reserve forward Vjera Kaludjerovich scored 16 points and starting forward Dana Wilkerson added 14.
San Jose State (4-21, 2-14) was led by guard Lora Alexander, who scored 33 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
