WORLD IN BRIEF : WEST GERMANY : 30 U.S. Youths Hurt as Bus Leaves Road

A tour bus carrying American youths to a recreation center plunged from the road down a 130-foot embankment near the Rhine River city of Oberwesel, injuring 30 of the passengers, police said. Twenty of the youths were seriously hurt, and 10 others suffered minor injuries, a police spokesman said. He added that authorities had not immediately determined whether the Americans were tourists or relatives of military or diplomatic personnel in West Germany.
