* JUDGING THE SYSTEM: In an effort to demystify judicial proceedings, municipal and superior court judges will hold public forums this week in a number of Los Angeles County communities, including Glendale, Long Beach, Norwalk, Pasadena, Pomona, West Covina, West Los Angeles and San Pedro. The forums are part of an statewide educational program called “Meet Your Judges Week” sponsored by the California Judges Assn., the State Bar of California and the State Board of Education.

* AIDS WALK: More than 2,000 walkers are expected to participate today in the second annual AIDS Walk/Long Beach, designed to raise money for programs that help people with AIDS, their families and friends. The 10-kilometer event begins at 10 a.m. at Ocean and Long Beach boulevards.

* SPACESHIP EARTH: The annual Environmental Education Fair will be held Saturday at the Los Angeles State and County Arboretum, 301 N. Baldwin Ave. in Arcadia. The fair’s 65 exhibits focus on the theme “Spaceship Earth, the Next Generation.”

* IMMIGRATION WORKSHOP: A National Assn. of Latino Elected Officials’ U.S. Citizenship Workshop will be held Saturday at Lawry’s California Center, 570 W. Avenue 26, to assist in the completion of naturalization applications for immigrants who have lived legally in the United States for at least five years. Processing begins at 8:30 a.m. A $60 application fee and $15 for fingerprints and photos are required.
