CSUN Edges San Diego State

Neil Coffman had 22 kills and Mark Root notched seven service aces Saturday to lift Cal State Northridge over San Diego State, 17-16, 15-6, 13-15, 15-5, in a Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. match at CSUN.
The victory moved Northridge (8-6, 5-4 in WIVA play) within two games of conference-leading UCLA and a half-game ahead of third-place Pepperdine.
