Philadelphia disc jockey Danny Bonaduce, once the freckle-faced imp of “The Partridge Family” TV show, will be off the radio airwaves indefinitely after his arrest on cocaine charges in Florida.

Dave Knoll, the general manager of WEGX, planned to speak with police in Ft. Lauderdale before deciding Bonaduce’s ultimate fate with the station. Bonaduce, 30, who was arrested last week after allegedly buying crack at a housing project, was arrested in California in 1985 and charged with possession of 50 grams of cocaine but had since gone through a rehabilitation program and had been working at WEGX since 1988.

“He’s had some problems there,” said Bonaduce’s grandfather, Jack Steck. “I thought he had it licked. He certainly was fighting it. He’s a tremendously witty guy--strictly offbeat. A very intelligent lad.”
