La Verne : Permit for Theater Blocked
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge issued an order Tuesday blocking the city from issuing a building permit for a proposed 12-screen movie theater building until a hearing April 12.
Bob Mastro, head of the La Verne Small Town Preservation Committee, and other residents have sued to prevent construction of the proposed theater complex on Foothill Boulevard. The suit contends that the city failed to notify neighboring property owners about the project and did not obtain an adequate environmental study.
