Michael J. Livesey, 61, a widely admired cameraman, photographer and producer for more than three decades. From 1960 to 1975, Livesey filmed documentaries of American presidents for the United States Information Agency. He also produced profiles of Mario Lanza, Irving Berlin, Lawrence Welk, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, and Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe for the Public Broadcasting Service. From 1969 to 1979, he was the chief cameraman for “Camera Three,” a critically acclaimed arts program produced for CBS. He also worked on Walter Cronkite’s “The 20th Century” and produced segments for “60 Minutes” on CBS and “20-20” on ABC. “Music by Richard Rodgers,” which Livesey produced last year, is to be televised today by PBS. Two other documentaries filmed by him, “The Women of Rikers Island” and “Before the Mountain Was Moved,” about Mt. Rushmore, were nominated for Academy Awards. On Sunday in Ridgewood, N.J., of liver and pancreatic cancer.
