Nighttime Fire Damages County Branch Library
A fire that apparently started early Friday in an overhead light fixture burned through the roof at a Los Angeles County branch library in the San Dimas area, causing damage to books, furnishings and the structure estimated at about $40,000, library officials said.
No one was in the building and there were no injuries.
The fire appeared to have started sometime before 1 a.m. and may have burned for some time before passers-by reported it.
