A 17-year-old youth was slightly wounded in the head by a shotgun pellet early Wednesday when three shots were fired through his bedroom window as he was sleeping, police said.

Robert Markovic was treated at UCI Medical Center in Orange and later released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The shooting occurred shortly before 3 a.m. as the teen-ager was asleep in his house in the 300 block of Avenida Santa Barbara, said La Habra Police Lt. Joe Milazzo. Three shots from a 20-gauge shotgun were fired at his bedroom window, and one of the pellets hit him in the back of the head, Milazzo said.
