Penders Gets 7-Year Contract at Texas

Texas basketball Coach Tom Penders, reportedly a candidate for jobs at Virginia, Florida and North Carolina State, has agreed to a seven-year, $735,000 contract, Athletic Director DeLoss Dodds said Wednesday.

The contract includes a base salary of $105,000 per year and an annuity package plus other benefits and supersedes the final three years of his five-year contract that had a base salary of $92,650 and approached $300,000 a year, including shoe company, camp, radio and TV contracts.
