PREP ROUNDUP : Discus Record Set at Dana Hills

Senior Andy Marrone set a Dana Hills High School record in the discus with a throw of 171 feet 3 inches Wednesday as the Dolphins defeated El Toro, 85-56, in a South Coast League track and field meet at Dana Hills.
Marrone broke the mark of 168-7 1/2 he set last week. Also for Dana Hills, Daniel Niednagel won the 800 meters in one minute, 54.4 seconds; Alaric Greenfield won the 110 high hurdles in 15.18 seconds and Matt Jordan won the shot put with a throw of 55-3.
In Sea View League golf:
Estancia 195, Newport Harbor 225--Senior Ken Calvert shot a one-under 36 for Estancia (6-1, 1-0) at Costa Mesa Country Club.
In Orange League golf:
Western 237, Brea-Olinda 242--Jon Reinke shot a five-over par 42 at Imperial golf course to lead Western (9-1, 3-0).
In Pacific Coast League golf:
Orange 194, Laguna Beach 199--Jonah Tatch of Laguna Beach shot par of 33 at River View golf course.
Trabuco Hills 209, Laguna Hills 231--John Fischer shot a three-over 39 for Trabuco Hills at Coto de Caza golf course.
In Pacific Coast League boys’ swimming:
Woodbridge 88, Orange 68--Mike Prahm won the 50 freestyle (21.79) and 100 butterfly (53.77) for Orange (10-1, 1-1).
In Sea View League boys’ swimming:
Newport Harbor 113, Tustin 42--Jewel Dietrich won the 200 free (1:52.5) and the 500 free (4:54.55). Newport Harbor is 3-1.
In Empire League girls’ swimming:
Los Alamitos 104, Cypress 45--Nicole Williamson won the 200 free (1:55.34) and 100 free (54.48) to lead host Los Alamitos (3-1, 1-0). Stacy St. Martin won the 100 butterfly (1:00.10) and the 100 backstroke (1:04.88).
In South Coast League boys’ tennis:
Dana Hills 11, El Toro 7--Ben Stevens swept, 6-2, 7-6, 6-0, and Kurt Bruggeman swept, 6-3, 6-4, 6-1, to lead visiting Dana Hills (10-0, 2-0). El Toro is 8-2, 1-1.
