Two men were killed when their vehicle struck another vehicle and rammed a tree on California 76, just east of Nate Harrison Grade Road,
The crash occured at 8:45 p.m. Saturday and killed the driver, Juan Lopez Rizo, 24, and his passenger, Rodolfo Saldana, who was in his 20s, said Deputy Coroner Cal Vine. Both men were from Temecula.
The California Highway Patrol said Rizo’s vehicle was westbound on California 76 and apparently drifted into the eastbound lane, where it collided with a car driven by Felipe Carrillo, also of Temecula. Rizo’s vehicle then crossed back over the highway, went off the side and hit a tree.
Carrillo was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido with moderate injuries.
