Dream of Fame Captures Santa Anita Turf Feature
Dream of Fame rallied to win Friday’s $47,000 allowance feature on the Santa Anita turf course in a three-way photo finish. Preston was second, a neck back and a neck in front of Brave Capade, in the eight-horse field.
Dream of Fame, ridden by Chris McCarron, covered 1 1/8 miles on grass in 1:47 2/5 and paid $6.40 to win. It was Dream of Fame’s second victory in three starts in the United States. The 4-year-old Irish-bred colt was imported from England last fall.
For the winner, trained by Gary Jones for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum of Dubai, it was his fourth victory in 13 career starts.
