Sunday”Time Warner Presents the Earth Day Special,” Bette Midler is an ailing Mother Earth in this two-hour show, joined by Barbra Streisand, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams, Carl Sagan, Magic Johnson and others. (ABC, Channels 7, 3, 10, 42, 9 p.m.)

“Earth Day Tonight,” a half-hour, late-night news special focusing on coverage of Earth Day activities interspersed with public service announcements. (KNBC Channel 4, 11:45 p.m.)

Saturday”EarthDay Birthday Party for Kids,” begins with a screening of the animated film “Earthday Birthday” at the AMC Santa Monica theater, then moves to Santa Monica Place for children’s entertainment, music and cake. Earthfestival, a daylong celebration at Santa Ana’s Centennial Park with Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. Display of portions of the giant, environmentally themed photomural, “The Tell,” with other entertainments and informational exhibits.
