COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Corson Pitches No-Hitter; Cypress Batters Riverside, 10-0

Laura Corson pitched her second no-hitter of the season and seven Cypress College players had two hits each in a 10-0 victory over Riverside Friday in an Orange Empire Conference softball game at Riverside.
Corson (17-2), a freshman right-hander, retired every Riverside batter except the game’s third one, who reached base on an error.
Cypress (33-5, 11-2 in league), which scored four runs in the third inning and five in the seventh, finished with 15 hits. Riverside is 5-25, 0-14.
In Orange Empire Conference softball:
Orange Coast 7, Golden West 1--Wendy Robinson had three hits, scored twice and had one RBI; Kellie Newcombe had three hits, scored twice and had two RBIs, and Nancy Johnson had two hits for host Orange Coast (29-9, 12-2). Kristin Heizer (23-5) allowed five hits in the victory. Pam Fogg had two hits for Golden West (26-13, 8-6).
Rancho Santiago 6, Fullerton 4--Lisa Jensen had two hits and scored three times to lead visiting Rancho Santiago (6-22, 5-8). Dena Oborn had two hits and scored a run for Fullerton (7-20, 4-9).
