Longshot Wins Fantasy; Hail Atlantis Is Seventh
Longshot Silvered ran down another longshot, Lonely Girl, in the final strides to win the $250,000 Fantasy Stakes Friday at Oaklawn Park, covering the 1 1/16 miles in 1:44 1/5 on a sloppy track.
Hail Atlantis, part of Wayne Lukas’ favored entry with Train Robbery, finished seventh. Her stablemate was fourth. Lukas said he would ship Hail Atlantis to Churchill Downs and make a decision about her next start in 10 days.
Owned by Arthur B. Hancock III and R.L. Bowen, Silvered returned $52, $19.20 and $7.40 for finishing a neck in front of Lonely Girl, who paid $11.40 and $6.60. Fit to Scout paid $3.80.
