Man, 31, Dies After Car Leaves Freeway

A Reseda man died early Sunday morning when his car struck a tree near Griffith Park, the California Highway Patrol reported.
David Olvera Diaz, 31, was driving east on the Ventura Freeway near Forest Lawn Drive about 2:12 a.m. when his car left the roadway and slammed into a tree, Officer Scott Davis said.
Diaz died at the scene, Davis said.
The cause of the accident was unknown.
No other cars were involved, Davis said.
