A spokesman for former President Richard M. Nixon announced Tuesday that Nixon and his wife, Pat, would use money from the sale of their New Jersey home to help fulfill their pledge of $2 million to the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace.
The project, which is under construction, is scheduled to open July 20.
Previously, Nixon had said that he would donate money from his new book, “In the Arena,” for the library project.
The Yorba Linda farmhouse where Nixon was born is being restored.
The Nixons are moving to a condominium in nearby Park Ridge, N.J.
