HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Fernandez Throws No-Hitter

Share

Henry Fernandez, a senior left-hander, threw a six-inning no-hitter, allowing just two runners to reach first base, as Crescenta Valley High defeated host Pasadena, 8-0, in a Pacific League baseball game Tuesday.

Fernandez (4-0) struck out eight and walked none. Pasadena Coach Bob Berans was thrown out of the game for arguing with the home-plate umpire in the sixth. Pasadena ultimately was forced to forfeit the game after Berans refused to leave the premises.

“He walked outside his dugout but would not leave the area,” base umpire Randy Hines said.

Eric Berger homered to pace Crescenta Valley (10-8, 7-3).
