San Diego County sheriff’s deputies said Saturday that they are seeking public assistance in their search for the suspect in the killing of an Imperial Beach man whose body was found Friday afternoon.

The victim, Carlos Jaime Zamora, 49, of San Diego, was discovered shot dead about 6 p.m. Friday in the living room of an Imperial Beach residence, authorities said. Zamora was apparently slain on Thursday, authorities said.

Police have revealed no possible motive for the slaying.

Sheriff’s officials have identified the suspect as Thomas James Foreman Jr. of Imperial Beach, who resided at the Grove Avenue address where the victim’s body was found, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue denim pants and blue canvas shoes, police said.

Sheriff’s officials said the suspect drives a black 1979 Datsun 280Z with louvers on the back window and California license plate number 2JGT541, according to the sheriff’s department.

Anyone with information on Foreman’s whereabouts is urged to call the sheriff department’s homicide squad at 565-5200.

Foreman is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, a sheriff’s statement said.
