The James Brady Story: The story of James Brady, the White House press secretary who was shot in an 1980 assassination attempt against then-President Ronald Reagan, is being developed as a movie for Home Box Office. David Puttnam will be executive producer of the yet-to-be-cast film, which opens just before Brady’s appointment as press secretary, and follows him through the assassination attempt and his recovery. The film will be based on the book, “Thumbs Up: The Life and Courageous Comeback of White House Press Secretary Jim Brady.”
