COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Orange Coast Blanks Saddleback, 9-0

Cathy Scanlan and pitcher Kristin Heizer each had three hits and drove in three runs in Orange Coast College’s 9-0 victory over Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference softball game Wednesday at OCC.

Heizer (25-7) got the victory, allowing one hit in five innings for OCC (31-11, 14-4), which finished second in conference. Saddleback (16-20, 8-10) finished fourth.

In another Orange Empire Conference softball game:

Golden West 3, Cypress 0--Lisa Kaufman allowed one hit in five innings and Pam Fogg pitched three hitless innings for third-place Golden West (30-13, 12-6) at Cypress. Conference champion Cypress is 37-6, 15-3.

In nonconference softball:

Fullerton 8, Chaffey 5 (eight innings)--Dawn Salter had three hits and two RBIs and Janet Kampell had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for Fullerton (9-25).
