110 Latino Youths Attend Conference
A quiet woods near the Malibu coast was the place to be for 110 Latino youths selected by a panel of educators to attend the Second Chicano/Latino Youth Leadership Conference, sponsored by the Los Angeles Board of Education and National Hispanic Arts, Education and Media Institute.
The three-day conference, held in March at Camp Hess Kramer, enabled young people to meet a Latino journalist, educator and film producer, among others, and to receive training in civics, culture and contemporary issues.
