OXNARD : Baby Girl Critically Injured in Accident
An Oxnard infant was critically injured in an automobile accident Friday in Thousand Oaks when her mother’s car was broadsided, authorities said.
One-month-old Hanna Lori Stermer, daughter of Marjorie Stermer, 34, of Oxnard, was in critical condition on a life-support system at the Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks Friday night, Sheriff’s Lt. Tony Ditzhazy said.
The baby was to be flown to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys for more treatment, Ditzhazy said.
Marjorie Stermer was hurt in the accident, but the extent of her injuries was not known, Ditzhazy said. She was being treated at the emergency room at Los Robles, a nurse said.
Jason Ragan, 17, of Thousand Oaks suffered minor injuries in the accident and was being treated at the emergency room, the nurse said.
Jason was driving south on Lynn Road and approaching the overpass of the Ventura Freeway when his car hit Stermer’s car, Ditzhazy said.
