CAMARILLO : Man Fatally Shoots Wife, Kills Self

A 68-year-old Camarillo man fatally shot himself and his 70-year-old wife, police said Saturday.
Archer and Beatrice Chamlee were found Friday in the bedroom of their trailer in the 40 block of Tahquitz Drive by their daughter, whom police did not identify, said Lt. Gary Bachman of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Beatrice Chamlee was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital and transferred to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, where she died Saturday morning, Bachman said. Archer Chamlee was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
“It appears that he shot her, though we don’t know why,” Bachman said.
