SHORT TAKES : Cusack Admits Guilt in Crash

Actor John Cusack, star of the film “Say Anything,” has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drunk driving charge filed in connection with a Feb. 23 traffic accident.
Cusack, 24, who appeared in court Friday, originally was charged with two counts, but the second likely will be dropped when Cusack is sentenced in Beverly Hills Municipal Court on June 8, a court clerk said.
A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy who saw the accident said Cusack made a left turn from the fast lane instead of the left turn pocket, and smashed into an oncoming car. No injuries were reported.
The actor cooperated during the investigation, and registered a blood-alcohol level in excess of the legal limit of .08, authorities said.
