‘Mr. Jellylord’ Gels at the Taper: The Mark Taper Forum has received a $100,000 grant for the development and production of “Mr. Jellylord,” a musical based on the life of jazz composer/pianist Jelly Roll Morton, by George C. Wolfe (writer of “The Colored Museum”) and Luther Henderson (arranger and musical supervisor of “Ain’t Misbehavin’ ”). It’s possible that “Mr. Jellylord” will have a slot on the next Taper season, said Stephen J. Albert, managing director of the Taper.
