VOLLEYBALL WORLD LEAGUE : Italy Beats U.S. in Four Games
Andrea Gardini had 21 kills and 10 blocks and Michel Pasinato added 25 kills to lead Italy to a 10-15, 15-7, 15-6, 15-11 victory over the United States in a World Volleyball League match Sunday night.
Andrea Anastasi came off the bench to record 15 kills and nine blocks for Italy’s national team, ranked second in the world and currently first in Group A.
The U.S. team was led by Troy Tanner’s 18 kills and four blocks. Jon Root added 17 kills and six blocks for the Americans, who are winless in four matches and in last place in the four-nation Group A.
