Networks Mull Australian TV Investment: CBS and NBC confirmed that they have been approached by Bond Media Ltd., which owns Australia’s Nine Network, about a cash infusion in the financially troubled company. Paramount Communications Inc., which owns Paramount Pictures, also confirmed that it was “considering an investment.” CBS said there have been “preliminary conversations.” Nine Network is the most successful of Australia’s three commercial networks, but parent Bond Media has been under pressure from its banks to find new equity partners.
