A 29-year-old Fresno man was in critical condition Tuesday after he drove across Interstate 5 in North County and crashed into a parked tractor-trailer rig, the California Highway Patrol said.
Mark Lee Reynolds was traveling north in a pickup truck on I-5 at 10 a.m., south of Lomas Santa Fe Drive, when he drifted onto the right shoulder and rear-ended the rig, CHP Officer Joe Wolf said.
Wolf said the pickup spun around and ended up facing south in the middle lane of the highway. No one was in the parked truck.
Reynolds was in critical condition with head injuries at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
