SANTA PAULA : Man Shot, Another Beaten With Bat

A man was beaten with a baseball bat Sunday and another man was shot in the thigh during a fight in Santa Paula, police said.
Brothers Armando Castro, 22, and Mario (Dino) Castro, 23, both of Santa Paula, were arrested in connection with the shooting of Daniel Ramirez and the beating of Martin Esquivel, said Santa Paula Police Sgt. Gary Marshall.
The incident began early Sunday with an argument between two groups of people in adjacent yards in the 100 block of Sheppard Road, Marshall said.
Ramirez and Esquivel were treated and released Sunday from Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
