A Lancaster man was in critical condition this morning after he was attacked Thursday night by two men apparently waiting outside his home, authorities said.

Steven Ross, 34, was pulling into his driveway on 36th Street East about 9:20 p.m. when he got out of his car to move a trash can blocking his way and was attacked by two men, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.

Ross was shot in the neck and back and was stabbed four times in the back, deputies said.

The two men fled without taking anything, deputies said.
