6-Year-Old on Bike Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver
A 6-year-old girl who rode her bicycle into a street in Rosemead was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver, authorities said Tuesday.
Amy Donovan rode down the driveway in front of her house in the 4400 block of Earle Avenue into the path of a car driven by Danny Olivares, 20, also of Rosemead, county sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies said Trujillo was booked for investigation of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunk driving after a breath test indicated a blood alcohol reading of 0.12% to 0.14%. The intoxication level is considered above 0.08%. He was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.
