A Compton man was killed and three others, including a 6-year-old boy, were wounded as they watched television in a house struck by bullets fired from a passing automobile, authorities said Saturday.

The shots from an AK-47 assault rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun were fired into a home in the 16300 block of Caress Avenue about 10:20 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy George Ducoulombier.

Milford Adams, 27, was taken to Charter Suburban Hospital, where he died of a bullet wound in his back, the deputy said. The 6-year-old was treated at the same hospital for a minor wound to his hand.

A 16-year-old male was taken to Dominguez Valley Hospital, where he was treated for wounds to his foot, shoulder, buttocks and thigh, Ducoulombier said. A 19-year-old Lynwood male who was visiting at the house also was treated at that hospital for a wound to the hip, the deputy said.

A motive for the shooting has not been found and no one has been arrested in the case, Ducoulombier said.
