Vincent Romano; Founded Gay Chorus

A memorial service has been scheduled at 3 p.m. June 30 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills for Vincent Romano, a baritone who helped found the 75-member Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles in 1979. Romano, a photographer, was 45 when he died of complications of AIDS May 24 at his Hollywood home.

A graduate of the Chicago Art Institute who moved to Los Angeles in 1963, Romano also became manager of the chorus, which performs frequently throughout the United States.
