College Women’s Club Gives $33,500 in Grants
The College Women’s Club of Pasadena has presented grants to five San Gabriel Valley women pursuing advanced study in local educational institutions.
Awards of $3,000 each went to Lorie Ann Humphrey of Pasadena, who will attend Fuller Theological Seminary, and Susan Ross of Alhambra, who will attend Pacific Oaks College. Seta Simonian of Pasadena will receive $2,000 to use toward her education at USC.
Grants of $1,000 each went to Darlene Newman of South Pasadena and Janet Nickerman of Arcadia. Both will attend Cal Poly Pomona.
In addition, the club presented awards to 12 women from other parts of the state and country. The grants awarded totaled $33,500.
