LOCAL : Spilled Cans Snarl 91 Fwy.
A truck spilled its load of empty aluminum cans on the eastbound 91 Freeway at the Santa Ana Freeway this morning, closing the two right-hand lanes for two hours as Caltrans workers picked up the scattered cans.
“They’re just all over the place,” California Highway Patrol dispatcher Angel Johnson said this morning. The truck was delivering the cans to a recycling center, she said.
The spill occurred about 8:10 a.m. near the border of Anaheim and Fullerton and temporarily halted all traffic for two miles, the CHP reported. The freeway lanes reopened about 10:30 a.m.
