Concerning the June 19 article, “The Little Station That Might”:

We suggest that KCOP’s station manager, Rick Feldman, who said that “no station in this market has a news product that they can really be proud of,” take a look at KCBS-TV, Channel 2.

We are proud to have been awarded the prestigious Peabody Award in 1989 for Chris Blatchford’s series about alleged ties between MCA and organized crime. Harvey Levin’s series exposing deplorable conditions in Los Angeles’ city-owned housing projects, which resulted in immediate improvements, received the nationally recognized Ohio State Achievement of Merit Award.

Our news staff has been recognized with more Emmy, Golden Mike and Associated Press awards than any other L.A. news station.

We challenge KCOP to match our quality.
