UCLA Sitcom Credit

Julie Wheelock, in her otherwise fine article on the UCLA soap opera “University” and sitcom “Good News, Bad News” (June 13), made one serious error.

While it is true that Bennett McClellan initiated and produced “Good News, Bad News,” the show’s official “created by” credit goes to Ed Horowitz. Horowitz was head writer on the show in its crucial first year and a half, created the characters, wrote or co-wrote half the scripts and supervised all the others.
