The manager of a popular seafood restaurant who was found shot to death after an apparent robbery attempt was remembered Sunday by her co-workers as a friendly and dedicated employee.

Employees found the body of Mary M. Streeter, 64, of Santa Ana in a pool of blood at Delaney’s restaurant when they showed up for work Saturday about 2:30 p.m.

Her death “completely shocked everybody,” said Dan Silva, vice president of the restaurant in the 12000 block of Valley View Avenue.

“She was an awfully nice person and very loyal employee. She was well liked by everybody,” Silva said. “This has been very difficult on everyone here.”

Police Sgt. Michael Walker said investigators believe that Streeter was killed early Saturday by robbers who fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Walker said Sunday that police had no leads or suspects in their investigation.
